Pennsylvania’s Heritage Corridors Launch Friendly Playlist Competition to Celebrate Local Culture
June 2025 — Pennsylvania — Three of Pennsylvania’s most historic and scenic heritage corridors are teaming up for a playful but epic competition: The Ultimate Road Trip Playlist Challenge.
PA National Road, has challenged PA Route 6, and the Penn-Lincoln Highway to a battle of musical curation. Each organization is crowdsourcing a playlist that represents the spirit, stories, and scenic charm of their unique communities.
“This challenge is about more than music — it’s about pride of place,” said Sarah Collier, Executive Director of PA National Road Heritage Corridor and organizer of the initiative. “Each corridor has a sound, a feeling, a rhythm. And we want residents and travelers to help us find it.”
The public is invited to submit song suggestions that capture the character of their region — whether it’s a local artist, a generational favorite, or the perfect track for a winding mountain drive. Song submissions will be accepted through June via social media and at the link below. Playlists will be finalized July 1 and open to the public for voting at that time. A winner will be announced July 14, just in time to enjoy your new favorite playlist on your Summer road trip.
“This is a celebration of Pennsylvania’s Heritage Corridors — through the universal language of music,” said Kimberly Cady, Executive Director of the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor. “And yes, there’s a bit of friendly rivalry involved.”

What is a Heritage Corridor? A heritage corridor is a scenic route that connects small towns, historic landmarks, and natural landscapes to tell the story of the region. In Pennsylvania there are 12 heritage corridors overseen by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and run by local nonprofits who connect their communities to resources.
